JOB DESCRIPTION

AEON Engineering Ltd. are recruiting a Senior Systems Engineer. As part of this role, you will be joining the team in Cheshire, to assist in the design and management of ‘Big Science’ Projects. The ideal candidate is a confident and responsible engineer and manager, with a minimum of three years experience, and is looking to work on large-scale scientific and engineering projects which adopt bleeding edge technologies.

The Senior Systems Engineer shall champion:

  • Configuration Management (including management of baselines)
  • Elicitation, development, and analysis of Technical Requirement Specifications, across system levels
  • Formal Compliance Management
  • Generating System Models (MBSE)
  • Peer reviewing of Engineering Reports/Design Documentation
  • Generation and implementation of Verification Plans and Procedures
  • Generation of Interface Control Documents (ICDs)

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential:

  • Engineering Degree in a relevant field 
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant experience
  • Aspiration to manage a small team
  • Broad experience of Systems Engineering, incl. contemporary system design techniques and tools
  • Proven use of MBSE
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Willingness to travel, and work around international time-zones (GMT ± 12h)
  • Corporate membership, or eligibility for membership of, recognised engineering institutes
  • Ability to work well under stress to meet deadlines
  • Able to work across markets within a small and dynamic engineering consultancy

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of RADAR systems, incl. synthetic aperture radar
  • Experience with aerospace systems
  • Specialism in mechanics, electronics, fluid or software engineering
  • A track record in system design, including previous roles within medium to large technically complex projects.
  • Experience in development of requirements for science projects, design specification, cost and performance modelling
  • Experience working in sub-optimum conditions
